(Courting in Flight)

The Ruby-throated Hummingbirds are shown in courtship. The male swoops in a U-shaped flight in front of the female, flashing his brilliant red breast to attract her.  These tiny birds arrive here after traveling more then 600 miles non-stop form their wintering grounds in South America. Carving birds of this size require the combined use of magnifying glasses and special eyeglass lens attachments.
